About Us
Surrey Hills Dyslexia’s founder, Camilla Mort, is an experienced Primary School teacher. After completing her Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at the Institute of Education, London, she taught across the primary age range in London and Surrey before completing her Level 5 Specialist Teacher and Level 7 Specialist Assessor training at the highly-regarded Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity (HADC) in Farnham. She continues to work part time as a specialist teacher and exam access arrangements co-ordinator in school, and is a freelance assessor for HADC.
Camilla has an excellent understanding of the challenges faced by learners inside and outside the classroom, and she always puts the needs of the learner at the heart of her practice. A commitment to regular Continuous Professional Development (CPD) ensures that her approach to teaching, learning and assessing is up-to-date and of the highest quality.
Camilla is fully insured and has an enhanced DBS check.
She holds an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) and is registered with PATOSS (the Professional Association for Teachers of SpLDs).
